Laos’ Chairmanship for ASEAN Business Advisory Council Agenda 2024

As Chair for 2024 ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), Laos hosted the 99thASEAN-BAC Meeting and the 23rd Joint Business Council (JBC) Meeting on January 29, 2024 in Luang Prabang. In line with the Laos Chairmanship theme of Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience, ASEAN-BAC Laos 2024 is prioritizing six sectors, namely: digital transformation, sustainable development, health resilience, food security, trade and investment facilitation, and connectivity and supply chain. ASEAN-BAC Laos 2024 legacy project will be on “ASEAN Plus Supply Chain Connectivity”, promoting development along ASEAN Logistic Corridors, such as green infrastructure, industry and agriculture, digital integration, human capital development, and regulation issues.

  • Develop effective advocacy strategies to impact policy concerns.
  • Identification of, and engagement with appropriate policy influencers to impact policy concerns.
  • Assistance in conducting follow-up after engaging government leaders (can include providing officials with additional materials, setting up meetings with their staff, getting a readout of the government’s reaction to the discussion).
  • Support for developing arguments that will resonate with target stakeholders.
  • Leading and setting the agenda and policy priorities of the Country and Industry Committees.
