From May 20 to 23, the US-ASEAN Business Council brought together 30 leading US companies for its annual Philippines Business Mission. The mission focused on strengthening US-Philippines economic ties following the recently concluded Presidential Trade and Investment Mission and Trilateral Leaders’ Summit. 

The Philippines Committee will be holding its 2023 Q2 Committee Call this May. The Council has invited Atty. Ernesto Perez, Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), to discuss the agency's new initiatives in line with its mandate to promote and ensure the ease of doing business in the Philippines.

The 2023 Philippines Business Mission Planning Call # 1 will discuss details relevant to the upcoming 2023 Philippines Business Mission. Topics include mission themes, proposed mission meetings, mission fees, mission materials, and other important information such as logistics and hotel bookings. Philippine Amb. Jose Manuel Romualdez will be joining the first half of the call to speak on the Philippines’ political and macroeconomic outlook.

The US-ASEAN Business Council (“US-ABC”) is pleased to continue our ongoing initiatives for the SME Workshop Series: Rebuilding the ASEAN Economy – as a part of the ASEAN SME Academy (“the Academy”) – which aims to help ASEAN small and medium enterprises (SMEs) recover stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic and better adapt to the digital economy. The upcoming workshop will be focusing on “Addressing Digital Skill Gaps for Philippines SMEs” – which will be conducted on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 09.00 AM – 04.00 PM in Manila, the Philippines.

(Washington, D.C.) – The US-ASEAN Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce today co-hosted a business forum featuring the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The business forum provided a unique opportunity for the U.S. private sector to engage directly with President Marcos on the Philippines’ business environment and expand strategic partnership opportunities.

From August 9-11, the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) held its 2023 Philippines Business Mission in Metro Manila, where a total of 30 companies participated in a series of in-person dialogues with top officials from the Government of the Philippines. This was the largest delegation to visit the Philippines in US-ABC history. The mission was co-led by Ambassador Ted Osius (ret.), President and CEO of US-ABC and Mr. Stephen Braim, Vice President for Government & Regulatory Affairs, Asia Pacific at IBM and Co-Chair of US-ABC's Philippines Committee.  

The US-ASEAN Business Council is organizing a business roundtable with the Philippines’ Department of Finance Secretary Ralph Recto on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. This meeting presents a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the Secretary on key economic and fiscal policy updates, as well as explore opportunities for deeper collaboration between the Philippine government and the US private sector in the areas of ease of doing business and digital transformation.
