Angelica Ortega oversees the Philippines, Singapore, and Customs & Trade Facilitation portfolios at the US-ASEAN Business Council. She is a solutions-oriented and impact-focused professional with evidence-based record of success in cross-border multi-stakeholder engagement, partnership development, policy advisory, market access acceleration, analytics research, and intelligence reporting. Angelica is experienced in assessing the socio-economic impacts of international and local affairs on business interests and commercial undertakings.
Angelica Ortega joined the US-ASEAN Business Council’s Washington, D.C. office in February 2023 as Manager for the Philippines, Singapore, and Customs & Trade Facilitation portfolios.
She brings more than 10 years of experience in multi-stakeholder engagement, international business development, strategic policy advisory, and intelligence reporting. Specializing in the intersection of business and government, Angelica is experienced in assessing the economic impact of international and local affairs on commercial undertakings.
Prior to moving to the United States for her graduate studies, Angelica spent most of her career with Enterprise Singapore, a Singapore government agency committed to helping enterprises innovate and internationalize. Working in the Singapore Embassy in the Philippines, she supported bilateral projects and key dialogues that increased trade and investment activities between Singapore and the Philippines. In addition, she provided nuanced advice to foreign enterprises, influenced key leaders to integrate localized business strategies, spearheaded multiple industry-specific delegations, and assisted in state visits and high-level business conventions. Before joining Enterprise Singapore, she held various roles in 2 local consulting firms.
Angelica earned her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, majoring in Marketing Management, from De La Salle University-Manila and her Master’s degree in International Policy and Practice from George Washington University.
She was born and raised in Manila and is fluent in Filipino.
