On October 4, the 45th AMAF Meeting took place in Kuala Lumpur, themed "Growing Together: Advancing ASEAN Agriculture and Forestry for Sustainable Development". The meeting emphasized ASEAN’s dedication to enhancing agri-food systems to achieve goals of food security and climate resilience. AMAF took significant steps by endorsing 16 policy guidelines, standards, and technical documents in the areas of food, agriculture, and forestry cooperation. Furthermore, AMAF committed to developing an Action Plan for implementing ASEAN Regional Guidelines on Sustainable Agriculture and a Strategy for Crop Burning Reduction. These initiatives are pivotal for promoting sustainable agriculture and reducing carbon emissions in the agriculture sector, aligning with the priorities of the 2024 ASEAN Chairmanship of Lao PDR.
