Sinta Sirait heads the Indonesia portfolio at the US-ASEAN Business Council. With almost 3 decades of experience across different industries in both private and non-profit sectors, Sinta brings a wealth of knowledge covering various cross-functional areas. This enables her to expertly handle policy issues and other challenges faced by member companies in Indonesia and in the region.

Sinta Sirait joined the US-ASEAN Business Council as Chief Representative - Indonesia in October 2023. She is the Council’s country head and its senior liaison with the private sector, Government of Indonesia and the U.S. diplomatic presence in that country.

Sinta started her career at the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce as Assistant to the Chief Economic Officer and then in 1994 she joined Freeport-McMoRan Inc. with their Management Training Program and joined PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) and gradually was trusted as the Vice-President of Government Relations and a member of the company’s Social and Local Development Task Force. Sinta briefly worked for Standard Chartered Bank as Country Head & Vice President of Corporate Affairs Indonesia and also as Member of Country Management Committee (ManCom) and returned to PT Freeport Indonesia as Director-Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer until early 2012 then as Director-Executive Vice President and Chief Communication & Public Affairs Officer responsible for Corporate Communication, Government Relations and CSR until March 2013 and continued as an Advisor until 2020. In cooperation with Department of Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade, she established Indonesia Services Dialogue in 2014, a tri-sectoral dialogue forum and coalition promoting growth and greater efficiency in the Indonesian services sector. Since 2015 until 2021, Sinta was the Chief Financial and Operations Officer for Jakarta Intercultural School, the largest international school in Indonesia and one of the largest and best international schools in the South East Asia region. In 2022, Sinta provided advisory services and led consultancy service team to support a US multinational petrochemical company establishing a strategic downstream industry in Indonesia and a major philanthropist organization supporting Indonesian Government in realizing an ambitious clean energy transition program under a consultancy company Asia Group Advisors (AGA). Sinta Sirait received her Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Sciences from University of Indonesia in 1990, and she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business

Administration with emphasis in Finance from University of Colorado at Denver, Colorado in 1993.
