Rahma Alifa serves as a key staff member at the US-ASEAN Business Council, managing the Indonesia portfolio. Her experiences in stakeholder engagement and understanding of policymaking processes, drive her work in Indonesia's complex policy landscape. Rahma brings expertise in political-economic research and advocacy strategies to support and advance the Council's strategic partnerships and policy objectives.
Prior to joining the Council, Rahma was as a Senior Analyst at BowerGroupAsia, where she managed high-profile clients and delivered strategic insights that drive business success, in multiple key sectors including ICT, pharmaceutical, FMCG, and creative economy. She previously served as a research assistant to former Minister of Trade Mari Pangestu at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta. She conducted research on major political-economic developments in Indonesia and ASEAN for presentations and briefings at international events and was involved in numerous high-level multilateral meetings.
Rahma graduated from Sciences Po Paris with a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences with a concentration in European-Asian affairs and economics. She also attended the Warwick Business School for Erasmus+ exchange year program majoring in business economics. In addition to her professional work, Rahma is deeply engaged in media production, currently serving as a production associate at Idekonomi, an online platform dedicated to podcasts and online content publication on Indonesia's economic and current affairs.
