Prior to his current appointment, David served in several leadership roles at MSD, including managing director for MSD in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland and Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chairman, President and CEO of Merck & Co., Inc. In his Chief of Staff role, which was based in the United States, David worked closely with the CEO and members of the Executive Committee to coordinate and oversee enterprise-wide initiatives and ensured continued focus and progress on the company’s key strategic priorities.

Over the course of his career with the company, David has gained a broad set of leadership experiences in locations all around the world. In addition to his role in the UK and Ireland as well as his Chief of Staff role, David has served as Chief Financial Officer for MSD in Japan, managing director of MSD in Hong Kong & Macau, and in several commercial roles based in Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, and the United States.

Earlier in his career, David worked for Bain & Co., a global strategic management consultancy, based in Australia. During this time, he also co-founded NUUN & Co., which

develops and markets tablet-based hydration products. David has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.

He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, completed course work at the London School of Economics, and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois.
