Angelica Takashima
Senior Manager
Angelica Takashima is Senior Manager for the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and the Customs, Trade and Supply Chain Committee at the US-ASEAN Business Council, based in Manila. In this role, she advances private-sector engagement, policy dialogue, and regional cooperation across key markets and trade-related issues. Prior to joining the Council, Angelica worked on social infrastructure development projects under the Philippines’ Official Development Assistance (ODA) program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, through a program with UC Davis, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in ASEAN Studies at the University of the Philippines Open University.
Angelica Takashima is Senior Manager for the Philippines and Timor-Leste at the US-ASEAN Business Council, based in its Manila office, where she also works on Customs, Trade, and Supply Chain issues. Since joining the Council in 2022, she has supported private-sector engagement and regional cooperation across these markets and sectors.
Prior to joining the Council, Angelica worked on social infrastructure development projects under the Philippines’ Official Development Assistance (ODA) program. As an Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist, she contributed to major infrastructure initiatives, including the Metro Manila Subway Project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Angelica holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), through a program with the University of California, Davis, supported by a scholarship from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training. Her undergraduate research focused on climate change and indigenous communities in Northern Vietnam. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in ASEAN Studies at the University of the Philippines Open University.
Beyond her work at the Council, Angelica is the co-founder of SOAR Design Co., a design and planning studio. She is an active member and previously served as a Board Trustee of the Lighthouse Club International – Manila Branch, a nonprofit organization that provides financial and educational assistance to members of the construction industry and their families.
Angelica is fluent in Filipino and English and has conversational proficiency in Vietnamese and Japanese. She is married to a Japanese architect and has one son.
