Angelica Christine Acaylar-Takashima
Senior Manager
Angelica Christine Acaylar-Takashima is the Senior Manager for the Philippines and the Customs, Trade and Supply Chain Committee at the US ASEAN Business Council, based in Manila. Angelica has been involved in social infrastructure development projects under Official Development Assistance (ODA) in the Philippines. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture (TUAF) and Forestry and UC Davis (hosted by TUAF) and is currently pursuing master's degree in ASEAN Studies at the University of the Philippines (Open University).

Angelica Christine Acaylar-Takashima joined the US-ASEAN Business Council in July 2022 and is currently the Senior Manager for the Philippines, Customs, Trade, and Supply Chain, based in the Manila office. With a background as an Environmental and Social Considerations Specialist, she brings extensive experience in infrastructure development and policy engagement.

Before joining the Council, Angelica played a pivotal role in social infrastructure projects under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, including the Metro Manila Subway Project in the Philippines, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and UC Davis, made possible through the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training's scholarship program. Her undergraduate research focused on climate change and indigenous communities in Northern Vietnam.

Committed to continuous learning, Angelica is currently pursuing a master’s degree in ASEAN Studies at the University of the Philippines (Open University), with a focus on ASEAN’s three pillars. Beyond her professional work, she is the founder of SOAR Design Co., a design and planning consulting firm, and serves as a Board Trustee at the Lighthouse Club International – Manila Branch, a non-profit supporting construction industry members through financial, welfare, and educational aid.

Angelica is fluent in Filipino and English and speaks conversational Vietnamese and Japanese. She is married to a Japanese Architect, Haruki Takashima.
