The US-ASEAN Business Council's Chairman's Council Advisory Group will next meet on 12th November to discuss the US election results, its implications on U.S.-Southeast Asia relations, and what role the Council should play in shaping narratives and engaging with key government stakeholders.
The meeting will begin with a presentation from Frank Lavin, former U.S. Ambassador to Singapore and former Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Levin’s presentation will be followed by a presentation from Ambassador Bill Heidt, current Senior Director at Vriens & Partners, and former U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia. Given both of their extensive experiences engaging in trade and foreign policy negotiations between the U.S. and ASEAN countries, they can provide critical insight into how to navigate government affairs and trade policies moving forward.
Following the presentation, members are invited to stay for a discussion focused on the Council’s strategic priorities in helping companies navigate their goals in Southeast Asia moving forward. Members may use this portion of the discussion to share anecdotes, suggestions, feedback, and proposals for the types of activities and events that will be most valuable to U.S. companies heading into 2025.
