New Cloud Infrastructure Investment in Malaysia
Malaysia has been growing US investment on cloud infrastructure. The latest announcement of a total of $6.5 billion US company investment for new public cloud region aims to provide Malaysian businesses with access to advanced AI infrastructure. This would include patented Generative AI Agents and large AI supercomputer capabilities powered by US-produced GPUs.
With Malaysia's public cloud market projected to grow at a 27.2% compound annual growth rate (CAGR)from 2022 to 2027, U.S. private sector companies may find significant opportunities for market growth. Such investments supports Malaysia’s ambitions to become a hub for digital innovation, as outlined in the country's National Cloud Policy. Moreover, it will significantly boost competitiveness, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to adopt advanced technologies.
