Increased Agricultural Cooperation Among ASEAN
Nine ASEAN nations signed an MoU for agriculture cooperation and small business development to boost ASEAN goals of economic integration at a roundtable discussion in Jakarta on September 5. The ASEAN-Business Advisory Council representatives for Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Indonesia signed the MoU at a ceremony presided over by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Philippine President Ferdinand Romuladez Marcos. Both leaders are committed to enhancing private sector development in their respective countries. The agreement followed the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS), which aimed to strengthen trade relations among private sector entities and further enhance the development of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in the future.
